New Mexico's casino map is drawn by two different systems, and most lists blur them. The state Gaming Control Board's own registers, which we read in October 2026, show 19 tribal casinos run by 14 tribal nations, plus three small satellite slot rooms, and a separate set of five racetrack casinos licensed by the state itself. One, Ruidoso Downs' Billy the Kid Casino, is closed after flood damage, so 23 floors are open. Two names you will still see on older directories, Camel Rock near Santa Fe and Palace West at Isleta, are closed and are not counted here.

The open racetrack casinos run slot floors alongside a live race meet, and the Racing Commission's 2026 calendar gives the state 190 racing days spread across them.

Things that differ from floor to floor

Minimum age is not uniform, so check the venue before you go; Isleta publishes 21 for gaming. Sky City, Dancing Eagle and Tesuque all advertise smoke-free floors. Hours range from 24 hours a day (Route 66, Sky City, Ohkay) to fixed closing times (Sandia at 4am, Dancing Eagle at 2am). Racing dates move each year, so treat the meet windows above as the 2026 calendar only.

Playing from home

None of these floors are a short hop from much of rural New Mexico, which is part of why sweepstakes casinos have a following here. They run on free Sweeps Coins rather than cash wagers, and our New Mexico sweepstakes rankings set out which platforms accept the state and how they performed in our testing.
